"Dick & Hobie"

Pre- music: Born 24 Sept 1950 of Danish immigrant parents, educated at Port Shepstone (Junior years) and at Hilton College (Senior years). Joined the South African Police in 1967, serving mainly as a detective during five years of service. Also did two stints of border duty during the “Bush War”, serving in the Caprivi Strip and Rhodesia. Resigned in 1972.

Besides music: I have, for profit :- driven taxi’s, been a lumberjack in Germany, washed dishes, made sandwiches, been a private detective, a security guard, worked on the canal system and in a sawmill in the north of Belgium, owned a book store, washed trucks, waited tables in restaurants, sold Real Estate (lots).

I love: my family, my dogs, writing poetry/songs, watching Rugby (Sharks or the Bok’s), chess, travelling, good food, spending time with good friends, positive thinking, seeing people win thru’ hard times, helping people win thru’ hard times (where I can), digital photography, scuba diving, new cars, honesty and working on my music

I hate: progressive jazz, people who whine, income tax, wasting stuff (money, water, electricity, time), “yappie” dogs, born-again Christians who talk while you’re talking, speeding, drugs, hangovers, spending time with boring people, disorganization, waiting in queues, unreliable or im-punctual people, sitting thru’ boring movies.

my sons,
Davey
and Chris...
